Indian Head Massage

An ancient form of massage native to India, where it is used to produce lustrous and healthy hair growth and to relax and ease tension. It has been formalised and brought to England only in the last 10 years or so.

The areas treated are the head, neck, shoulders, upper arms and face. A range of oils native to India, are normally used, although it is possible to use rosewater or to perform a dry treatment. It is quite a vigorous form of massage although it is always adapted to suit the client. IHM improves circulation, range of movement, relieves muscle tension, promotes relaxation and effective lymphatic drainage.
For a more atmospheric treatment, we offer traditional Indian spiced tea, incense and classical Indian music, although these can be omitted if preferred.
